Leading Conversations: Best Practices in Facilitation
Leadership Metro Richmond and the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities are excited to continue offering this educational training to teach best practices in facilitation by gathering safely in the virtual setting. Leading Conversations: Best Practices in Facilitation is intended to strengthen the Richmond region by equipping our community leaders with the tools they need to lead conversations in a manner that is inclusive, informative, and effective. The way we engage with one another is changing and it is important that we are equipped with the skills to not just navigate but also effectively communicate across this ever-growing digital landscape. This program will not only offer up practical tips but will also give participants the opportunity to put their new skills into practice.
"Leading Conversations: Best Practices in Facilitation is an excellent course for novice and experienced facilitators and trainers. I appreciated the thoughtful detailed training, which encouraged questions and engagement as participates learned about modalities, tools and resources available to enhance facilitation and vary delivery. The in depth three-part training exceeded my expectations."Raina VannCommunity Engagement Coordinator, Henrico County
"As a LMR graduate, I wholeheartedly found all components of the Leading Conversations: Best Practices in Facilitation training to be a pinnacle opportunity. The best tip was that facilitation is not cookie cutter and facilitation style should always be adjusted to meet the needs of each respective group. You create the right environment by clearly articulating expectations and expected outcomes, keeping your group energized and being open to feedback."Satara WoodsonFamily Services Supervisor, Department of Social Services, City of Richmond
